The global manufacturing sector over the recent years has taken a significant shift with the ‘Fourth Revolution in Manufacturing’ – moving towards the Industry 4.0. The convergence of industrial production and information and communication technologies is called Industry 4.0. It is currently one of the most frequently discussed topics among practitioners and academics.
“Make in India” initiative is spearheading wider adoption of ‘Industry 4.0’. The transformative journey of manufacturing through Industry 4.0 has already begun in the country. SRMIST works to create and sustain an environment conducive to the development of India, by partnering with industries. SRMIST has been actively taking initiatives to bring Institutions and Industries together in addressing the prevailing concerns in the education, skill and job verticals. One such initiative is a Three Days Workshop on Industry 4.0 where the students are trained in cyber-physical systems. It provides the perfect blend of theory with hands- on approach to keep students on par with the technology revolution. This workshop is organized with the support of industry partners Nokia Networks Solution Pvt Limited, Oragadam.
